Imperial Crafting Delivery Explained [BDO]

In BDO, imperial cooking and imperial alchemy are a special subset of trading, which requires either cooking or alchemy skill and processing skills to perform. Together, Imperial cooking and Imperial alchemy are called imperial crafting. The goal of imperial crafting is to create trade boxes that you can sell to an “Imperial Crafting Delivery Trader” NPC. Here I explain how imperial crafting and it’s delivery works.

Imperial Crafting Delivery Traders

Imperial crafting delivery traders are special NPCs that are located in Olivia, Heidel, Calpheon City, Altinova, Valencia City, Grána, and Duvencrune. These traders will buy your imperial cooking and imperial alchemy boxes for 250% of the silver value of the box. This means that a pack with a price of 200.000 silver will be bought for 500.000 silver and there is no tax. Note that the NPC’s themselves have the actual price they pay for each box listed (which is 250% of the price on the trade item description).

There is, however, a limit on how many boxes an imperial crafting delivery NPC will buy of each tier and more importantly, another limit on how many crafting boxes you can personally sell each day. The NPC’s limit is in the hundreds and if you need to, you can bypass it by switching channels.

Your personal limit, however, is your contribution points divided by two. So if your contribution points are at 260, then your daily delivery amount is 130 boxes. There is no way to bypass this limit as far as I know. So you will need to work on gaining contribution points to increase it.

Making Imperial Cooking and Imperial Alchemy Boxes

There are six tiers of boxes you can make. Apprentice, skilled, professional, artisan, master and guru boxes. Imperial cooking boxes are made from cooking consumables (food) and imperial alchemy boxes are made from consumable alchemy items.

These tables here lists all the imperial crafting boxes you can make, the type and number of consumables needed for each specific box, the skill requirement and the reward you get for delivering each box. Be sure to bookmark it for future reference.

To start making the boxes you press on the “L” button to open the processing screen. In there you can select imperial cuisine (imperial cooking) or imperial alchemy from the symbols at the bottom of the screen. Next, you need to select the cooking or alchemy consumable you want to process into an imperial crafting box, have the necessary amount of consumables to make a least a single box in your inventory, and then press start. After a few seconds, you will get an imperial crafting box you can deliver to the appropriate NPC.

As a side note, at high enough processing level (master?) you start to get an occasional extra box when processing items into imperial alchemy or imperial cooking boxes. It’s not much but it’s nice.

Delivering Imperial Boxes

The final bit is simple enough. Just take the boxes you made, go to an imperial craft delivery trader and sell him the boxes like you would with any trade item. The silver you get for each box depends on its tier and is listed here.

• Apprentice: 130.000 silver
• Skilled: 200.000 silver
• Professional: 300.000 silver
• Artisan: 400.000 silver
• Master: 550.000 silver
• Guru: 800.000 silver

The Effect of Mastery on Delivery Prices

It’s worth noting that your mastery skill for cooking and alchemy affects the value of each respective box. You can gain up to 144.9% bonus when delivering imperial cooking boxes from cooking mastery and up to 46% for alchemy boxes. So, at least for cooking, it’s worth investing in some life-skill mastery accessories and clothes to get a higher delivery bonus.

Is Imperial Crafting Profitable?

This is the big question. And it depends on a lot of factors. You could probably find some items on the central market that are selling cheap enough to leave you with a profit after you change then into imperial crafting boxes, but it won’t be a lot.

Personally, I find it’s worth pursuing imperial crafting since I do a lot of cooking. If you cook the consumables yourself then it can be really worth it. Items that barely make a profit selling on the central market due to taxes can have a good profit margin when turned into a box and delivered.

The actual profit depends on the items produced and the market value of the raw materials. You’ll need to calculate that for yourself as the profit margins are always shifting with changes in raw material prices. Though in general, I find that for BDO, imperial cooking is better than imperial alchemy.

Apparently, you guys are still using the old system. Here is my old system and the “old” tables that apply to that system. Why the game is different depending on the platform is beyond me.

My Method for Imperial Crafting Delivery

1. Select which Imperial Box to make. Here you need to look at what ingredients you have, how much they cost, is your processing skill high enough and calculate if making the imperial boxes will give you any profit.
2. Once selected, get a decent amount of materials for that item, preferably enough for 100 boxes.
3. Check how many boxes the imperial Craft Delivery NPC is buying on your channel.
4. Start your cooking/alchemy to make the items you intend to process into imperial boxes.
5. Once you have enough items so you can make the same amount of boxes as the Imperial Craft Deliver NPC is buying, stop.
6. Go to the Imperial Crafting Delivery NPC, start processing the items into Imperial Boxes and sell them to the vendor. Remember that you cannot be over your weight limit when selling your boxes.
7. Once you have sold all your boxes or the NPC does not want to buy more, switch channels.
8. In the new channel start from step 3. and repeat until you have completed all your materials.
