How to Make a Farm Cart – Archeage Unchained

Crafting a farm cart in Archeage is not a simple thing to do. Some of the materials needed are hard to get or are expensive. Yet, if you are interested in a career as a trader, then you absolutely must craft a farm cart and later upgrade it to a farm wagon.

Here are instructions on how to craft a farm cart. They assume that you need/want to gather all the materials yourself, but you should also be able to buy most of the materials from the auction house. The total base materials needed are listed at the end of the page. So, let’s get started.

Instructions on How to Craft a Farm Cart in Archeage

To build a farm cart you need the following items:

  • 1 Farm Cart Design
  • 4 Cart Wheel
  • 1 Cart Engine
  • 1 Cart Shaft

How to Get a Farm Cart Design

You can get a Farm Cart Design by doing the Blue Salt Brotherhood questline until you complete the “A Guild reward” quest. This is generally considered the best way to get a farm cart design, but if you need one for a low-level alt you can also buy the design from a general merchant for 50 gold. Note that if you are doing the Blue Salt questline do NOT make the Chroma version. The relevant quest requires you to summon a farm cart, not a chroma farm cart.

How to Make Cart Wheels

To craft a single cart wheel you need the following items:

  • 10 x Lumber
  • 10 x Iron Ingot

You get lumber by processing logs at a carpentry station, where three logs give a single piece of lumber. Similarly, you get iron ingots by processing iron ore at a smelter, where three iron ore give a single piece of an iron ingot. Once you have the materials you put them together at a carpentry workbench.

This means that to get 4 cart wheels for a farm cart you need to get 120 logs and 120 iron ore, process them to 40 lumber and 40 iron ingots and then put them together to make the 4 wheels.

How to Make a Cart Engine

To craft a single cart engine you need the following items:

  • 10 x Silver Ingot
  • 1x Archeum Ingot
  • 2x Fine Lumber

You get silver ingots and archeum ingots by processing silver ore and archeum ore at a smelter, where three ore give a single piece of an ingot.

To get fine lumber you first need to get 10x lumber. You get lumber by processing logs at a carpentry station, where three logs give a single piece of lumber, so 30 logs will give you the 10 lumber you need.

You also need to get 1 Small Seed Oil. To make it you will need the following items:

  • 3x charcoal stabilizer
  • 20x rice
  • 20x corn

Rice and corn are items you get from growing them at a public farm, your own scarecrow farm or finding them in the wild. You should also have received some if you have done the Blue Salt Brotherhood questline.

The charcoal stabilizer is somewhat harder to get on your own. To get some you need to complete trade runs with Certified Cargo from the other continent. You can also complete the “Hauling Certified Cargo” quest at level 50 to get some. Personally, this is one of the items I have no issue with buying from the auction house to save myself some time, even if it costs me some money. You then need to use an alchemy table to make the small seed oil and the sawmill station to make the fine lumber.

How to Make a Cart Shaft

To craft a single cart shaft you need the following items:

  • 1 x Thunderstruck Log
  • 1 x Sturdy Ingot

To get a Sturdy Ingot you need the following materials:

  • 1x Iron Ingot
  • 1x Copper Ingot
  • 1x Silver Ingot
  • 1x Opaque Polish

The iron, copper and silver ingots can be processed at a smelter from iron, copper and silver ore. As mentioned before three ore melt into a single ingot. The opaque polish then needs:

  • 2x Charcoal Stabilisers
  • 20x Azalea
  • 20x Narcissus

Azalea and Narcissus can be gathered in the wild, as you have no doubt already seen. And the charcoal stabilizers can be gotten from inland trade runs as explained before. You then craft the Opaque polish at an alchemy table and the sturdy ingot at the smelter.

Finally, and this is by far the most difficult step of the process of making a farm cart, to get a Thunderstruck log you need to log a Thunderstruck Tree and they are rare. Whenever a tree grows it has a very small chance of getting struck by lightning. So the only way is to either grow trees on a farm and hope for the best, get extremely lucky by finding one in the wild or buy it from the auction house.

Waiting to get a thunderstruck tree from growing trees on farms will most likely take you a long time. So again, here I would recommend just buying it from the auction house if you can, but be warned that they are pretty expensive.

Putting Your Farm Cart Together.

The total base materials needed to craft a farm cart in Archeage are:

  • 1x Farm Cart Design
  • 180x logs
  • 123 x Iron Ore
  • 3x Copper Ore
  • 33x Silver Ore
  • 3x Archeum Ore
  • 20x Azalea
  • 20x Narcissus
  • 8x Charcoal Stabilizers
  • 1x Thunderstruck Log
  • 40x Rice
  • 40x Corn

Personally, I would recommend that you get all these materials together before you begin crafting your farm cart components.

Once you made all the components you can finally put the farm cart together. You do so at a carpentry workshop and the required labor is 1000 labor points. Once done, congratulations, you finally have a farm cart.

So that’s about it. If you followed these directions you should have your very own farm cart to start your trading career. Now, if you found this guide useful then please share it with your friends and allies and if you are interested I have a few other guides on Archeage Unchained. Anyway, good luck trading.
