There are two ways in which you can teleport between spots in Archeage. By using a Memory Tome and by using your Teleport Book.
Setting Recall Points With Memory Tomes.
You can find a Memory Tome in most towns and other points of interest. By right-clicking on the memory tome you can select that location as your Recall spot. Once done you can use your Recall skill to teleport directly to that location once every 30 minutes. If the Recall skill is not in your quick slots you can find it by pressing “K”, going into the Basic tab, and you will find it there directly under “Basic Abilities”.
Personally, I use the Recall skill in an area where I spend a lot of time, such as close to my house and farm, where I am using a public farm or where I prefer to go grinding.
Using the Teleport Book to Open Gateways
You can also use your teleport book to open a gateway to select spots in Archeage. You have to have visited those spots first to get them into your teleport book, but once there you can always use the teleport book to open a gateway to them.
Opening a Gateway
If you have Hereafter stones in your inventory you need to open your Teleport book, select the location you want to go to, and press the little greenish circle near the bottom right corner of the window. This will start the summoning timer for the gateway and once formed you just need to jump through (literally).
However, unlike the recall skill, you will need to use a Hereafter Stone to open a gateway. You can buy Hereafter stones from the auction house or you can make your own. It takes one Hereafter stone to open a gateway that leads to a location on the same continent and it takes three Hereafter stones if you are traveling to another continent.
A trick to save a Hereafter stone if you are going from the west to the east is to teleport to Sanddeep Community Center, use the gateway right outside the center towards Rockborne Basin, and then teleport again from that location to your final destination. This should end up saving you a single Hereafter stone for the trip.
How to Make Hereafter Stones.
The first step to making Hereafter stones is to get your hands on some raw stone. You will need at least 18 to make 10 Hereafter stones. Once you have the minimum amount of raw stones you need to craft them into stone bricks at the stonemasonry workshop. Three raw stone will make a single stone brick.
Once you have six stone bricks you then need to get a single Onyx Archeum Essence. Again you can buy it from the auction house and in this case, I would recommend doing that. The reason being that to get Onyx Archeum Essence you will need to deliver cargo to a cargo exchanger, which means cross-sea trading. This is time-consuming and really not worth it if you are only interested in getting Hereafter stones.
Finally, when you have six stone bricks and a single Onyx Archeum Essence you can find a stonemason workbench and make ten Hereafter stones.
Tagging Along Through Gateways.
It’s not obvious, but you can jump through a gateway regardless of who opens it. Whenever someone opens a gateway you can read where it leads from the top of it. If that is a location you need to go to you can simply jump through the gate and you will get teleported there.
