These builds are optimized for part breaking while using swords, axes, chain-blades or repeaters. I personally think that trying to break parts with hammers or pikes is wasteful as hammers are best used for staggering and pikes are just meh at best. The builds are perhaps not the best you can put together, but they are good and definitely something to work for if you are not yet at end game. Also, your own personal playstyle will always have an effect on how good a build is.
The enhancement level of the weapon, armor, and cells are not specified as the builds are, in my opinion, just as viable at low-end enhancement as high end (albeit much weaker), but the total perks at maximum enhancement are shown after each build.
Chain-Blade Part Breaking Build
This build is based around an up-close and personal, fast attack style. This build has good DPS but really low survivability unless you are very fast on the dodge button. Then again, if you’re not going to get in the behemoths face, then you should just use repeaters, which are up later. As a part breaker build, this is my favorite.

Repeater Part Breaking Build
Like the previous two builds, this one has a similar trend. The main difference here is that it assumes you are not dodging behemoth attacks as much and will be able to be unscathed for some amount of time, making the predator perk more useful than the cunning perk.

Axe Part Breaking Build
In my opinion, the ax is the worst of these four weapon types for part breaking, but can still be used for it. This build has the same basics like the ones before, but it needs to sacrifice considerable overall DPS for the sake of parts damage.

Breaking Parts of Behemoths
Once you have selected a part breaker build to work with you need to know how to break parts. In simple terms, whenever damage to a behemoth part shows up as yellow it means that a breakable part has received damage. Those are the locations on a behemoth you should concentrate your attacks to break them off.
Now you cannot simply go after these parts randomly but should always concentrate on a single specific part as each part needs to receive a certain amount of damage before falling off. It is possible to kill a behemoth without breaking a single part if you don’t focus on the parts you want to break.
If you are in a team hunt and really need a specific part, writing it in the chat box is often enough for at least one other hunter to go after the same part, which usually does the trick.
So that’s about it for part breaking builds in Dauntless. Now if you found these builds useful then please share them with your friends and allies in Dauntless and check out my other Dauntless guides. Also if you have other ideas about the builds or would like to suggest improvements then please comment below.
Good luck hunting.
