Dauntless: Aetherhedrons. What Are They and How to Get Them?

Simply put, in Dauntless Aetherhedrons are your hunt pass experience points for season 7. The hunt pass is a tiered reward system where each tier gives better rewards. This tier system is one of the ways the game is monetized as players can purchase an elite hunt pass to get for better rewards whenever they complete a tier. However, in both cases, you still need to collect Aetherhedrons to get any benefit. To open your Hunt Pass you can either go through the game menu or press the “P” button (on PC).

How to Get Aetherhedrons in Dauntless

By Finding Daily Aether Collectors

The simplest way to earn Aetherhedrons is to search for Aether collectors. A Deathmark looks a bit like a red dagger with some ribbons, which is stabbed into something. you can see one in the image below. Every day you can search for 10 daily Aether collectors that appear around Ramshorn. Their location is a bit random, but the total number of spots where they spawn is limited. Each Deathmark will give you 5 Aetherhedronss, so once you have found all the locations where they appear you can quickly get to 50 each day.

By Completing Pursuits and Patrols and Breaking Behemoth Parts.

The general way to gain Aetherhedron s is to go on pursuits and patrols to hunt behemoths. Whenever you defeat a behemoth you could get some with the amount depending on your mastery and the challenge rating of the behemoth you are hunting.

You can also get Aetherhedron s by breaking parts of behemoths. When a part breaks of it has a random chance of dropping a few Aetherhedrons on the ground, if you fail to see it you will get them at the end of the battle.

If you want to really farm Aetherhedrons you should make yourself a part breaking build for the job. On this page I have a few part breaking builds for chain-blades, swords, repeaters, and axes. Personally, I find that the chain-blade one works best, but the other build can also get the job done.

Getting Aetherhedrons Through Weekly Hunt Pass Challenges

Another way to earn Aetherhedrons in Dauntless is by completing weekly quests. As you can see from the image below, a single weekly challenge can reward you with 150 Aetherhedrons, which is usually enough for an entire level increase at the lower levels. Even better, some weekly challenges require you to kill behemoths which also rewards you with Aetherhedrons. And while some of them are hard to complete, others are pretty much auto-completed (such as damage dealing ones) if you just play active enough.

Getting Aetherhedrons By Completing Quests

Finally, some quests can reward you with Aetherhedrons once completed. The main reason to do quests is to unlock higher tiered hunts and weapons, but quests often reward you with a decent amount of Aetherhedrons as well. Of course, activating and completing all the quests you get offered is a good idea anyway.

A quest reward which contains 100 heartseekers which were rewarded during season 5, now you would get Aetherhedrons instead.

So that’s about it when it comes to what Aetherhedrons are and how to get them. If you found this information useful then please share it with your friends and allies in Dauntless and feel free to check out my other Dauntless guides.

Good luck on your hunt.

    • That is the maximum level where you gain the Silent Shadow Character Title. After that, you need to wait till next season to start getting rewards again from the hunt pass.
