The Archepass Explained – Archeage Unchained

The Archepass is a system in Archeage Unchained that allows you to gain various useful items through leveling your Archepass by completing missions. While this system is rather simple for the most part, there are a few key points that need explaining. So let’s go through the Archepass system step-by-step.

Registering Your Archepass in Archeage

The first thing you need to do is to start up the Archepass system. You do that by opening the Archepass interface by pressing the calendar button on the bottom left of your screen. This will open your Archepass interface. To start your Archepass you need to press the Register/Change button you see on the screen below.

Once you click that button you go into the Archepass selection screen shown here.

Image shows where the passes are that you can register to be your active archepass.

In the red circle, you see four types of passes. The basic one and then the more specialized vocation, equipment and combat passes. The basic pass only costs a single copper to register while the other three cost 5 gold each to register. You should take a look at the rewards each pass offers before you register to one. Note that each level of the basic pass takes 3000 experience points to complete, while the three specialized passes only take 1500 experience per level. More on the rewards later.

Once you have decided which pass to register to you just need to select it from the list and press the register button. You now have an active Archepass, but we’re not done with the basics.

Getting Started With The Missions.

To start getting your rewards for the Archepass you first need to open the missions that you have available. You do that by pressing on the green bars with the lock symbol in the Archepass interface as you can see here. Note that this is for the basic pass.

Once unlocked they will turn blue and you can click them to get a mission. It will cost you 15 Gilda stars and 2 Blue Salt Hammers to unlock them all. At this point, you have an active Archepass and can start completing the missions to level up your pass and get rewards.

One thing to mention. I got a visual bug with the middle mission bar as I had two blue salt hammers in my inventory and I was above level 30. However, when I clicked to open the mission bar it worked just fine, so don’t let that stop you.

The Archepass Interface Explained

Now that we are done with the basics, let’s look in detail at the Archepass interface for the basic pass. In the image below you can see a few points of note. The same applies to the other specialized passes with the only difference being the rewards.

Archeage's archepass interface is shown with notes on how it works.

Changing the Type of Active Archepass

The first thing to mention is the fact that you can change your active pass at any time if you are unhappy with the one you have. However, you will lose the Gilda stars and blue salt hammers that you used to unlock the missions if you switch to a different pass. It will also cost you 5 gold to register for a different pass. You will, however, not lose your progress on your former pass if you decide to return to it later.

Changing Active Missions

You can change the missions you get up to six times a day. Some of the missions are silly hard while others are really easy to complete. The change attempts are reset daily so don’t worry too much about spending them. To change a mission start by pressing the “Change Mission” button. This opens the following screen

where you can select what mission you want to change. Once selected press change and you will get a new randomly generated mission. Now, this means that you can possibly get the same mission again, which is stupid, but just something we need to live with.

Also, you can only complete 12 missions a week. Keeping this in mind you might want to try out for some of the harder missions are they give more experience to your pass level. Now let’s take a look at the reward system

Archepass Reward System Explained

There are two reward ranks for the passes, basic rewards, and premium rewards. Once you have registered an Archepass you immediately get access to the basic rewards. To get the premium rewards you need to purchase an Archepass Upgrade Ticket from the Marketplace.

The “Basic Archepass Upgrade Ticket” for the basic pass costs 10 gold, but for the other passes, you need to buy an “Archepass Upgrade Ticket” for 1500 credits. Now don’t worry about pay-to-win here, despite Archeage’s history. The rewards from the vocation, combat, and equipment premium passes are cosmetic items only.

Once your active Archepass reaches a level with a reward you can claim that reward by opening your Archepass interface and clicking on the item in the pass. Now I am not entirely certain about this, but I believe that you can level a pass and then later upgrade it to premium and at that point claim all the premium rewards you would have previously gotten.

The Basic Rewards for the Archepasses are the Following:

  • Basic Pass
    • Vocation Badges
    • Hiram Infusions
    • Labor Rechargers
    • Honor Points
  • Vocation Pass
    • Elixir of Vocation ( +100% vocation badges for 30 minutes)
    • Vocation Badges
    • Diligence Coins
    • Labor Rechargers
    • Expansion Scroll
    • A costume when completed

    • Honestly, I’m not sure. I would assume you could complete all the passes each season, but you should complete the pass you’re more interested in first just in case.
